We live in a pluralistic world that is getting more and more confusing to live in. We desperately need wisdom to live out our faith in every area of life. Therefore, Citylight School is hosting a Politics and Sexuality Forum and Q&A (open to the public) on Friday, June 24th at 7:00PM at Citylight Benson Church (5612 Corby St.) and a one-day Christian Ethics class on Saturday, June 25th from 8:30AM-4:30PM.
The forum and class will be led by Dr. Alex Tuckness who is a professor of Political Science at Iowa State University. Dr. Tuckness has served as an elder at Cornerstone Church in Ames, Iowa for more than 10 years and has been involved in Bible teaching, equipping, and college ministry. He received his masters degree from Cambridge University and his Ph.D. from Princeton University.
During the class morning you will be taught the foundational issues: What is ethics? How does God teach us what we should do? What are the main themes from the OT and NT that should shape our ethical approach to every hard decision? In the afternoon you’ll learn how to apply a Biblical approach to specific ethical issues like politics, homosexuality, sanctity of life, race, justice, environmentalism, marijuana, and more.
Cost: The class is $25 (whether your come for the morning or the whole day).
