This survey of the Old Testament course will provide students with a broad structure on which students may hang other details and events in the Old Testament to make sense of the God’s dealings with Israel and His plan for the world. Emphasis is given to themes, purposes, chronology, geography and highlights of key O.T. books. Attention is also given to personal applications and the importance of each book in terms of the development of Gods divine program for Israel and the world.

Dr. Holmes has taught at Grace University since 1993 and has served as the Registrar, Academic Dean and is currently Chair of the Bible Department and Associate Professor of Bible. He graduated from Grace University in 1986 (B.A), Dallas Theological Seminary in 1992 (Th.M.), and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002 (Ph.D). Dr. Holmes teaches Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey annually as well as other bible electives. He has been happily married to Donna for 27 years and they have two sons.
